I agree that people who engage in volunteer work are good people because they help people without expecting anything in return. For example, many volunteers at food banks or elderly homes spend hours serving the needy even though they are not paid or rewarded, This shows that they are driven by kindness and a desire to improve the lives of others rather than their personal gains. Their actions come from a sense of compassion and selflessness, which proves that they [possess characters of a good person]. Therefore, volunteering without expecting anything in return reflects the character of a good person.

I disagree that people who engage in volunteer work are good people when they volunteer to profit from them. For example, influencers on social media may only volunteer to film content and gain clout from their viewers. This shows that some people only volunteer for fame, not for helping people. Moreover, some people only volunteer to gain recognition from the community, like ECHA awards, a school award to recognise people who does good deeds in school. Due to this, most people only volunteer to gain attention and receive awards. Hence, people who volunteer for their own benefit are not good people.

Some people argue that doing volunteer work does not always show good character, as some only do it to look good. For example, students may volunteer just to earn VIA hours or make their resumeh look better, which means their actions are driven by self-interest, not compassion. However, while this may be true in some cases, the impact of those who volunteer out of kindness is far greater. When people give their time and effort without expecting rewards, it builds a more caring and united society. Their genuineactions can inspire others and create real change in the lives of those in need. In compaarison, even if selfish volunteers help, their impact is often limited and short-term. Hence, although some may volunteer for the wrong reasons, the positive and lasting impact of selfless volunteers shows that volunteering usually reflects good character.

Others may argue that people who engage in volunteer work does not necessarily make them good people as they may only be doing it to profit from them. For example, some influencers on social media may only volunteer to film content to gain clout form their viewers. This shows that some people only volunteer for fame, not for helping people. Moreover, some people only volunteer to gain recognition from the community, like ECHA awards, a school award to recognize people who does good needs in school. This is because there are plenty of people who are genuine about helping others and have a heart to serve others.

Like Singapore has Values-In-Action, whereby Secondary school students will choose an activity to carry out that benefits the nearby community. Students will get bonus points for completing a certain number of hours successfully. In such circumstances, people are not volunteering out of kindness, but because they are required to. Therefore, when people volunteer because they have to, not because they want to, this argument may not apply. In these situations, their actions do not necessarily reflect a good character, but rather a response to obligation.

Counter argument: Others argue that people who engage in volunteer work are not good people if they volunteer to profit from them. For example, influencers on social media may only volunteer to film content and gain clout from their viewers. This shows that people only volunteer for fame and not for helping people. However, this may not apply to all influencers as some influencers volunteer out of the kindness of their heart. Influencers may volunteer because they genuinely want to help people and also feel that they can make a difference in society. For example, social media personality, Pamela Lee started volunteering with Youth Corps Singapore to teach English to unprivileged students in Cambodia. Hence, not all influencers volunteer to gain attention.

Yes, AI should be used for school work. Although some may argue that AI should not be used as it could reduce students' thinking and limit their full potential, I believe that, with the help of AI being used for school work and if used properly, it can guide us to think harder and improve our understanding. For example, AI can give feedback, explain difficult concepts in simpler ways, and offer different perspectives that students might not think of on their own. While it is true that over-relying on AI might cause students to become lazy or copy answers blindly, this only happens when AI is misused. Under the right circumstances such as when teachers guide students on how to use AI responsibly it can become a powerful learning tool. Therefore, when used with proper guidance and discipline, I believe that AI can support our learning rather than weakens it.

For example a student may use AI such as Chatgpt,Gemini and perplexity in order to complete his or her work. This halts the student's learning as homework is a way getting extra of a certain subject at the comfort of our homes. Through this the students is not able to thoroughly understand the topic and in dependent on AI to do his or her work

counterargument: some may argue that AI should be used for school work, because students can tend to learn more easily, and clarify things via AI, as it has the ability to explain very precisely, instead of just giving the answers. However, I believe that this could only be valid if one is keen enough to learn from it, instead of just copying the answers blindly. Copying from AI can result in students becoming more lazy, reducing their interest to learn, which may result in them scoring very less for their assessments, due to the lack of knowledge on how to actually solve the problems.

Some may argue that AI should not be used for schoolwork, as it provides direct answers instead of allowing students to think and learn on their own. However, this argument can be rebutted by considering students' self-discipline. If students use AI technology wisely, they can learn more effectively and manage their time better, allowing them to focus on their interests. For example, students can use tools like ChatGPT to generate ideas and access a wide range of resources. If they take the initiative to learn, they can understand the key concepts and engage in active learning. Therefore, AI should be used for schoolwork.

It essentially provides students with free answers. This does not contribute to students' learning and may lead them to over-rely on AI to help complete their schoolwork. In the long term, it affects their academic results as they are not learning anything. However, I believe that if AI is being used responsibly, it would not only improve students' learning, but it could also help students to explore greater perspectives that they have not discovered before. Since AI has access to information across the web, the answers that are given are not restricted to just things that students have experienced before, such as school life. It can expand to a more global perspective, therefore increasing the depth and quality of the answers that students give. This, of course, should be accompanied by the responsible use of AI. For example, generating ideas and using them as references and not directly copying.

Some may argue that AI should be used for school work as AI can help you break down concepts that are not easy to grasp and help you further understand the topics taught in class. For example, if a student has trouble with a math concept and finds it hard to understand it in class, the student can go home and input the problem into ChatGPT and ask it to explain it to the student. However, this argument fails to consider the over-reliance of AI in the long term that can be detrimental to one's learning. As AI is becoming more advanced overtime, many students are sending their entire homework page into AI and blindly copying it. This leads to students not using critical thinking skills and would result in not being able to score in the exam as it is purely written by yourself. Hence, AI should not be used for school work.

Critics may argue that using AI for school work encourages laziness and prevents students from learning critical thinking and problem-solving skills on their own. They fear that students may become too dependent on technology and lose the ability to complete tasks without it. However, this is not true in all circumstances as AI can actually enhance learning when used responsibly. Just like calculators in math or spell checkers in writing, AI tools can support student understanding rather than replace it. When integrated properly, AI can offer personalised feedback, generate practice questions as requested by students, and provide tutoring that many may not otherwise afford or access. Instead of replacing effort, AI can guide and enrich it.

Although some may argue that AI should be used to help students overcome their learning gaps and understand topics more efficiently, this could only be valid if students have integrity and responsibility while using AI. This assumes that all students use AI responsibly to aid their learning . Many students will end up using AI to complete all their homework and copy answers from it instead of getting rid of their learning gaps . For example, some students use chat gpt to complete their graded assignments which disallows them from learning and makes them dependent on AI .

For example, AI tools such as ChatGpt or Deepseek can be easily used by students who feel lazy or tired to do their homework on their own. By blindly copying the generated answer given by the AI bot, students will end up not learning anything and would not know how much they understand a certain topic. This may result in a lack of creativity and impact on academic results if AI is not used responsibly.
