We learned about the artist,Yip Yew Chong.His artwork was about a Cantonese Opera and it contained a performance stage, some performers, a band of musicians and a group of audience crowding around the stage.His artwork was very different as it was a mural.Unlike most artworks, his painting was on a wall.

I drew my school’s stage. I also drew a group of acrobats on the stage performing. I also drew the audience looking at the performance stage performing. If you don’t have a background is empty it going to be very boring so that is why you need a background.

My Cca is Chinese orchestra so I drew my instrument 🎸 on stage(yang Qing)I have always wanted to be on stage to play music and show my skill.that is why I chose to draw myself playing my instument.

Based on my drawing above,I drew this stage.This is a traditional wushu performance.there were music,sword slashing noises and people cheering.As you can see,The audience are closer to us that’s why I learnt that closer people are bigger and further people are bigger.

In the nutshell,we need to learn how to identify foreground,middleground and background.We need to understand closer are more bigger and further people are smaller.

I draw a KHS lion dance performance that the KHS.I left some white spots .After this lesson,I learn background,foreground and middle ground.

This term I learnt about all types of operas and every picture has a foreground, middle ground and a background. We had a whole lot of fun learning about murals. Drawing the artwork, I also learnt that the audience are bigger and the performer(s) are smaller.

I drew a Chinese wushu performance at Kong Hwa stage. It was full of excitement and suspense. What was going to happen next? I drew a boy fighting another boy with a spear, I also drew a boy and girl fighting with swords and many more.

Yip Yew Chong is not a normal artist .As he paints murals. Murals are large paintings painted on walls . I learnt how to classify foreground,mid ground and back ground.I even learnt more about Cantonese opera.

I drew a performance of Wu Shu as I Like Wu Shu because I am interested in how they move so quickly and how they use the different types of weapon.

I drew my own picture of my own performance, just like Yip Yew Chong’s mural. Mine has more musical instruments on stage, and a crowd watching the show. I learned that long ago, people enjoyed these shows with their families and friends. I also learned that art can help us remember our history and share stories from the past.

The artist we learnt is Yip Yu Chong. He is a singaporean who likes to paint and he his artworks are called murals. One of his paintings is the cantonese opera which he painted in chinatown. I have learnt more about cultural performances from his artwork.

My art piece was challenging because it was hard to draw the boy on the mailbox. What I was drawing was from Cantonese Opera made by Mr Yip Yew Chong. That is him himself! I think this artwork is not bad but I think I can improve and do better next time.

The challenges I faced are painting and colouring the background as I am scared I might spill the paint 🎨 or run out of time.

The challenges I faced was time management ,I felt that time was purposely moving faster.I overcome this challenge by looking at the clock more often so I know how much more time I have.
