Wiley and the Hairy Man

I find it interesting that in a lot of traditional stories, things are in threes. In this story, Wiley tried to defeat the Hairy Man three times. In a lot of other stories, things are either done in threes, or something happens at three o' clock, or there is three of something. I've always wondered why it is this way, but I think it could be a "rule" for traditional stories. It wouldn't make sense for all of the books to have things in the same amount.

I like how at the bottom of most of the pages there is a footnote. They are there for one of two reasons; to describe a word or sentence in the book, or to describe more in depth about what is happening. I think that the author put this there because he is telling the reader to hold on to what it is saying, or helping the reader better understand the concept in the book. It definitely helps me to understand things that I don't know better, and makes it so the author can make the book more in depth and hard to read, while still having the reader understand. There is one at the bottom of this page:

I think the main character, Colin's, last name is connected to the story. His last name is Singleton. The story is all about him dating girls and then them breaking up and him being single. As of now in the story, he is single. I think that his last name has some kind of connection to this all happening. It would be interesting if his friend made a joke about it in the story, because he likes to joke around about and I feel like it is the kind of thing he would joke about.

I like how the main character, Colin, relates his life to things he likes and understands, like math. He has compared to the things happening in his life to graphs, which I can sort of relate to but not in the same way. I relate things to stories, movies, TV shows, or books that I like a lot. I don't really know why I do this, but its fun! I think Colin does it because he isn't great at understanding real situations, but he is good at anything school related, so that helps him with real world situations.
