         <description><![CDATA[<div>-Began August 16th, 1942 at a Camp Claiborne, in Louisiana<br>-First commander was Major General William C. Lee<br>- 101st has no background history except Rendezvous with Destiny, the 101st Airborne represented this saying proudly <br>-Later, 101st moved to Fort Bragg, North Carolina for training purposes<br>-101st continued to train in England until D-day June 6th, 1944<br>-101st parachuted and landed into Normandy helping clearing a path for the 1st and 4th Infantry Divisions <br>-September 17th, 1944, 101st parachuted into Holland during the Operation Market Garden. 101st soldiers would spend the next 72 days in combat<br>-November 1944, 101st got called into action to fight in the Battle of the Bulge. This battle continued until January 18th, 1945<br>- At the end of WWII the 101st became inactive until September 21st, 1956<br>-January 31st, 1968, 101st were active in battle from Saigon to Quang Tri<br>-1971 in the fall, 101st final returned home<br>-August 1990, 101st departed for Saudi Arabia to act in operation Desert Shield and Storm<br>-Right after 9-11 attack, the 101st deployed to protect susceptible facilities from possibility of further terrorist attacks<br>-March 2003, 101st deployed to Kuwait </div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>Geography wasn't much of an issue for the Screaming Eagles, but during WWII the soldiers got scatter all over the place due to a miss drop landing. This caused a lot of problems as a lot of 101st soldiers were captured or killed.</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>- D-Day, June 6th, 1944, the Screaming Eagles parachuted and landed into Normandy helping clearing a path for the 1st and 4th Infantry Divisions. This took place at Omaha and Utah Beach<br>-On June 8th,1944, battled a German force in the town of St. Côme-du-Mont. The Screaming Eagles would win this battle with the help of a few other division's and moved one step closer  in the drive on Carentan.<br>-June 15th, VIII Corps gave the Screaming Eagles responsibility for securing the left flank of the VII Corps<br>September 17th, 1944, 101st parachuted into Holland during the Operation Market Garden. 101st soldiers would spend the next 72 days in combat<br>-November 1944, 101st got called into action to fight in the Battle of the Bulge.          <description><![CDATA[<div>This is the 101st Airborne Division's insignia. 101st Airborne also has the nickname of the Screaming Eagles because of their insignia. The insignia has a bald eagle with a black shield. Wisconsin had a mascot that was an eagle named Old Abe, shortly after World War I the 101st Division was formed using "Old Abe" for their division's insignia</div>]]></description>

Just recently the Screaming Eagles were sent off to Afghanistan and Iraq. 101st just teamed up with the 82nd Airborne Division. Both the 101st and 82nd division's have the most deployed forces within the last 15 years.</div>]]></description>
