The pros and cons of sweatshops.

Pros- If there were no sweatshops where would all the workers from these countries work? They would be unemployed and have no money. In these countries there is no social welfare so they have no way to get money to live. In New Zealand we have social welfare which the government pays to help unfortunate people.

Companies can make more money and more products to sell because it is cheap labour.

Cons - On the bad side, in sweatshops the workers gets paid 1.33 (NZD) cents an hour on average. The workers also often have to live on site in small concrete buildings with open sewers next to them. There living conditions are very poor and disgusting meaning the people often get sick.

Big companies are using these people for their own benefit, especially to make moneyand do not care about the welfare of the workers.
