In the beginning, Annabeth Chase, daughter of Athena, was reunited with the love of her life and boyfriend, Percy Jackson, son of Poseidon, after six months because of Hera, goddess of marriage. The reason why he wasn’t with Annabeth is that of the fact that in the last book, Hera took Percy from Camp Half-Blood, their home, and Jason, son of Zeus, from Camp Jupiter/New Rome and switched them. So that means that Percy was at Camp Jupiter/New Rome for six months. After they were reunited at Camp Jupiter/New Rome, Annabeth soon finds out from Camp Jupiter’s praetor, Reyna - daughter of Bellona - in order to defeat Gaea, the main antagonist, from arising and destroying the earth, the Greeks and Romans must work together. Soon after she also learns that there was something that made the Greeks and Romans fight and hate each other, the Romans were given another reason to fight each other. Gaea possessed Leo and made him take control of his ship and fire upon the families and city of New Rome. A mob tried to fight Annabeth and five out of her six demigod friends which are Percy, Hazel, Frank, Jason, and Piper. 


After fleeing from Camp Jupiter with a lot of Romans on their trail, they begin their journey. At first, Annabeth must follow the path that all children of Athena must follow which is to find the Athena Parthenos. After that, the demigod seven of the prophecy must find and close the Doors of Death.

I think this book is one of the best books I have ever read in a long time. This book has an amazing plot, a good backstory to go with it and an amazing ending to top it off. This book has a sense of humor and gets serious when its necessary. The book has a cast of amazing protagonists and antagonists that align when they need to and do everything they were supposed to for the benefit of the story. It also helped understands how certain enemies become friends and how to develop that.


I believe that the characters in this story were well thought of and implemented in the right places in this story. The setting fit the story well and made the story seem authentic and original. The conflict made the reader feel interesting and actually grabbed the reader into the book. I didn’t really have any connections with the book. I can not compare it to any other book because it is unique and unlike other books.

I would recommend this book. I would not recommend this book to someone who likes informational and nonfiction books, however, I would recommend this book to people who like thrillers, mythology, and interesting books that would grab the readers attention and make them happy from reading it. This people is not for books who don’t have a sense of humor and is uninterested in mythology and fiction.
