First, I started in Sydney and was immediately struck by the beauty of the city. The iconic Opera House and Harbour Bridge were even more impressive in person than I could have imagined. I took a ferry ride around the harbour, which was the perfect way to see the city from a different perspective.

I also visited the Blue Mountains, which were breathtaking. The views were absolutely stunning, and I even saw some wild kangaroos! I went on a few hikes and loved being surrounded by nature.

Next, I traveled to Melbourne, which had a totally different vibe. The city had a more relaxed and laid-back atmosphere, and the street art was incredible. I also visited the Great Ocean Road, which was a highlight of my trip. The coastline was rugged and dramatic, and I was blown away by the Twelve Apostles.

One of the most memorable parts of my trip was visiting Uluru in the Northern Territory. The rock formation was even more impressive in person, and I learned so much about the indigenous culture and history of the area.
I didn't climb Uluru because Uluru, also known as Ayers Rock, is a sacred site for the Indigenous Anangu people of the region, who have lived in the area for tens of thousands of years. I also got to experience some amazing wildlife encounters. I saw koalas and kangaroos up close, and I even went snorkeling on the Great Barrier Reef. The colors of the coral and fish were absolutely stunning, and it was an experience I'll never forget.

Finally, I celebrated Australia Day on January 26th, which was a really special experience. I watched the fireworks in Sydney and felt so grateful to be in such a beautiful country.

Australia Day is a national public holiday in Australia that is celebrated annually on January 26th. The day commemorates the arrival of the First settles at Port Jackson, New South Wales on January 26, 1788, and the raising of the British flag at Sydney Cove by Governor Arthur Phillip.
It seems to me that for many Australians, January 26th represents a day of national pride and celebration, where they come together to celebrate the country's diverse cultural heritage, its achievements and to reflect on what it means to be Australian. However, for some Indigenous Australians, the day is also known as 'Invasion Day' and marks the beginning of colonization and the dispossession of their land, culture and way of life. And when I went to Melbourne, I saw protesters holding a flag, which was associated with Aboriginal rights. They demonstrated and were determined to denounce "Australia Day" by drawing a parallel with "the Invasion Day".

Overall, my trip to Australia was incredible. I was blown away by the natural beauty, the friendly people : the Aussies, and the amazing experiences like commemorating and doing a celebration for the Australians values while having a barbecue with strangers ! I highly recommend visiting this incredible country occupied by equally incredible people.
