Mermaid Sightings Throughout History - Video

This video speaks about the legends of mermaid sightings throughout history and speaks about how it is possible that mermaids could 'stay hidden'. This video is part of a controversial documentary series created by Animal Planet; the controversy behind it is that the main plot line was completely fabricated and a hoax. In this video confusion of correlation with causation can be applied when they are saying that all of the old art and legends of mermaids prove that they are real.

Feegee Mermaid - Photo

A sketch of the famous Feegee (Fiji) mermaid put on display by P.T. Barnum in 1842. Possibly one of the most well-known mermaids hoaxes in history proven to be the top half of an ape sown onto the tail of a fish. People wished for the Feegee mermaid to be real because of simplicity. They wish to believe the easiest thing that is presented to them; if they are told the Feegee mermaid is real they will believe that the Feegee mermaid is real.

This website explains the history and origins of mermaids and sirens with 'rare video footage of a mermaid swimming'. This object is an example of emotional connection. The group that wrote this claims that their Vice-President is a 'Demi-Mermaid'; descended from a long line of royal mermaid blood. The information that is stated is believed to be their personal experience and knowledge.

Mermaid: Myth and Reality provides some history of Mermaids along with an explanation of what mermaids are. This video is subject of proof of verbosity. The narrator gives the entire history of mermaids in under 15 minutes skipping over the fact that most stories are just folktales. The large quantity of bias information could conclude in watchers assuming that all points made in this video are fact; not fiction.

This is a painting that depicts a pirate captivated by a mermaid. Mermaid are possibly one of the most popular mythical creatures depicted in art. There is so much mermaid content constantly being created, from videos to artworks, that mermaids have become a well known mainstream topic. This constant exposure to mermaids through art is proof of verbosity; without all of the ancient art surrounding mermaids there wouldn't be such a huge profit made off of the idea.

This photograph is of an Ancient Greek coin featuring Demetrius III Eucaerus' head on one side and the Greek mermaid goddess Atargatis on the other. A red flag for this coin would be ancient wisdom. Some people believe that if ancient people believed something to be true, than it must be. An example of ancient wisdom is that a goddess from an ancient culture that was important enough to get her image on coins must have some importance to her; so mermaids must be real.
