قال الله تعالى

"سَرَابِيلُهُم مِّن قَطِرَانٍ وَتَغْشَىٰ وُجُوهَهُمُ ٱلنَّارُ"

.وردت في سورة إبراهيم، الآية 50. :

هذه الآية تصف حال الكافرين يوم القيامة في عذاب النار. والسرابيل هي الملابس، و"القَطِران" مادة شديدة الاشتعال توحي بشدة العذاب، بينما "وتغشى وجوههم النار" تشير إلى إحاطة النار بوجوههم كدلالة على هول العذاب الذي يلاقونه نتيجة أعمالهم.
