Father died young and was raised in poverty.
Went to school to practice the six arts. Rites, music, archery, chariotry, calligraphy and mathematics.
Married at 19 and had 3 kids
Worked different government jobs in his early twenties.
His teachings led him to being minister of crime in the state.
Wanted to establish a centralized government rather than a segmented one amongst three powerful families.
Became very influential political figure.

We as humans living in a society together have a duty to one another to judge soundly and with empathy. To do that we must study as that is his biggest teaching is to study in order to self cultivate and perfect our roles in society as well as further our moral code to other humans. I think this works well with politics. Rather than punish as a means of punishment, we must instill the sense of pain it causes others like the golden rule states. The tough question is how? How do we put this into practice? Confucius used pure diplomacy as he had no military power. Is this something all humans truly feel?
