I was also taught that my body language was even more important and they taught this to us by using the phrase actions speaking louder than words. In American Culture beauty is a very important thing however, in my family we look inward before looking outward. temp of work is supposed to be fast paced but not for everything, precision can actually be better. Finally, animals are family and anything less that that is unacceptable.
Deep Culture: Top 3
-concepts of cleanliness, nature of friendships, and tone of voice.

Northeast:
1.) How do the photos show poverty? I believe that the photos in the NE show poverty because the first photo is a hanging line with tattered clothes that seem to be drying. The second photo is a homeless man against a building with a sign. Both of the photos are showing how poverty is shown in certain places.
2.) What is my personal connection to these photos, or what made me select this photo? To be honest I do not have any personal connection to the photos. I chose these photos because it seems like that have real value to the inside story of poverty. These photos are a window to these peoples lives.
3.) The quote that I chose for this set of photos is; "Many people lost their jobs as industries and corporations were forced to lay off workers. So, increasing numbers of individuals went bankrupt and lost their homes." (Pang, 2018) I chose this quote because it echos to the loss that people have endured and are still trying to overcome due to economic crisis'.
Southwest:
1.) How do the photos show poverty? I believe that the photos in the SW show poverty because that first photo is a elderly man that looks weather worn and tired. This could be a man who works long hours in the sun for little money. The second photo seems to show a run down little town in a reflection on a dirty window. I think that both of the photos show how poverty can affect a person and a place.
2.) What is my personal connection to these photos, or what made me select this photo? Again even with these photos do not have any personal connection to me or my life. I chose the first photo because it looks like someone trying to follow the american dream and may be having a rough time. I chose the second one because it reminded me of what can happen to a town when there are not enough resources or people to maintain it. The photos show a window to the world of poverty.
3.) The quote that I chose for this set of photos is; "America may be the land of opportunity, but it is also a land of inequality. (Lareau, 2011, p. 3)" (Pang, 2018) I chose this because one look at these photos and you can see the opportunity that was there but the equality and ability wasn't.
