5. I think he gets physically abused because his mom attacked him with a skipping rope and just because he didn't do his homework. I think he got really hurt and he is really sad and angry that his mom attacked him. I think all this, because it is just really obvious that he got hurt and you see that on the picture and if I was him I would be really mad and sad because your mom abused him. Thats what I think.r

I think that the emotional part of this story is that the 9 year old gets abused by his adoptive mum and it is horrible. Firstly, he must be suffering a lot because when someone hits you with a skipping road it hurts a lot, (I've experienced it already but it was an accident) and it is his own mother. Secondly, he is probably hurt inside of himself, because a mum is not supposed to do that, a mum is supposed to protect you. He is probably also really angry and hates his mum because she did that to him. I think it is a big emotional shock for this boy. Thirdly and lastly, I think this boy is feeling really sad because his mum hurt him physically and emotionally and she is now in jail. I know that Chinese parents educate really strongly their kids but no one has the right to abuse physically their kids. I don't understand why adopt a kid and help him and after hurt him so much. This story shocked me a lot and I hope it is never going to happen to anyone.

I think it is the mother Ms.Li keep on hitting her adopt son, and the boy might feel sad, because his mother is hitting him, I think the mother don't know how kids feels and what kids want to do, because if she does, she won't hit the boy then. It is like physical abuse(hitting the boy's back with jump rope). The mother didn't even take care of the adopt son.

I think the emotional survival part of this story was when they boy needed to emotionally survive the part that her adopted mother hit him with a rope and a backscratcher. Firstly, he couldn't left her because he wouldn't have anywhere else to go and anybody else to feed him so he always just needed to come back even tho his mom hit him. Secondly, he never gave up and he was probably sad that he didn't have a mom that loves him.

Surely, this son is not born by Ms. Li and Ms. Li can let he do some housework, he is nine-years-old, he probably can do some housework, right? But if Ms.Li want to let he do some housework, she probably need to give he time to finish it. He didn't brake any things and he didn't do any thing wrong. Then, why she hit him? He just help Ms.Li to do housework! Maybe he just do it little bit slow. Or he just want to play. Yeah, sure, he is a child, every children like to play, right? I think the emotional survival part of this story is that mother didn't show any emotional support to his adopted son because she abuse her adopted son for little small things. The mother didn't realize that the kid need cares and love more than anything during his growth. Because the boy was adopted and he need cares and love more than other kids without accompany from his parent Although doing work is important, the mother also need to use the correct way to let the boy know that, instead of punishing. Only if the boy feel that his mother's love so he can have a good emotional survival environment and he can follow his mother's instruction to do the right things.

I think the emotional survival part of this story was to be nice mom for the boy because even though Li adopted the boy but she didn't really cared about how is boy feeling when she is hitting him and she hit him for a small things. She might thought that the boy didn't really hurt but he was very depressed and emotional abused. Also He might thought suicidal thoughts. After I read this story, I realized that my parent is very important than anything, but without them, or if they are hitting their child,
then the child would be really affected. I feel super lucky that I born with my parent's love.
