There was points of the book where I felt some situations could of went a little different, and there was situations that I felt went with the book perfectly. It gives a realistic life of a teenage girl who wants to be better then where she came from. It gives multiple more themes including not to trust anybody even when it comes to people as close as your blood. Her song sends a message about becoming a woman, becoming older and finding herself on her own (like Teenie in the novel.)
