Singapore River Mouth Inscribed Sandstone
Q3. From examining this source, I learned that Singapore had economic connections with Indonesia (specifically Java) and/or India. This is evident from the source as it stated that when the British arrived in Singapore in 1819, they found the stone and the inscription is written in Kawi script - which is the ancient Javanese script - and contains some Sanskrit words. This suggests that Singapore might have had trade connections with the Javanese and/or the Indians as during trading, they might have left the stone in Singapore as a gift. This shows that Singapore might have had an economic connection with Indonesia and/or India.
