It is important to have a variety of ways to recruit learners because not everyone learns the same. We also want to make sure that the classroom is safe from threats and distractions. We can have different sensory levels, novelty, and just make sure that each student is participating. Also make sure that the information that is being taught is relevant to the subject at hand. Provide activities that students can participate in. It is best to try and provide choices for students in different things.

We should build self-regulation, self-determination skills that will help make learning more equal. If we can do this then students will be able to concentrate and be able to sustain more. Have goals, let them explore different ways to achieve those goals. Have a variety of resources and demands so that it will motivate students. Let collaboration be a focal point. Have students get together in groups and establish goals, responsibilities, and the different roles they are to present. A major thing is to make sure to provide feedback to the students. Feedback helps them understand and learn from the mistakes that they make.

Self regulation is the ability to regulate the emotions in order to cope better and be more engaging within the environment. Set goals for each student, so that each child can gain that confidence of their learning. Provide prompts, checklists and/or rubrics to help the students to stay on task while doing completing an activity. Scaffolding should be able to provide students with a variety of ways in order to meet the difference. Teachers can provide feedback to students for emotional support, manage frustration and coping skills for internal controls. Students should be able to manage and monitor their own emotions, and be able to react carefully and accurately. In order to assist students, you should offer aids and charts, along with activities that provide feedback to the student.

Learning is a little hard on the learners who may perceive the information a little challenging due to the format or effort. With digital materials, it is a little easier to customize and display the same information but in different ways to help each learner. Some students may respond better when listening to things, so providing options when they can hear instructions or information being repeated. However, we do have to be mindful that not all learners have access to audio versions. Using charts, pictures or videos are a great way to get information across to the learners. However, we have to pay attention to those who have vision troubles, so adding some sort of auditor explanation is good.

It is important to ensure that we explain or clarify different vocabulary and/or symbols. For example, make sure that they know that an = means that each side has to be equal. Explain syntax, structure to learners. Make sure to go in depth when explaining grammar and where each word goes, along with the properties of musical notes and mathematical equations. It is important to provide translations, descriptions and/or pictures to help explain different languages. Have the information in the main language and first language.

Teach students to take accessible information, and use it to their knowledge. This plays a part in decision-making and processing skills. Let learners apply what they already know, and then add any background information and let them form connections to what they know and what they learned. Emphasize key elements or points within the information given so that learners can can distinguish what is relevant and irrelevant. In order to gain knowledge successfully, a student has to have skills in order to process the information, some learners may have the skills while others do not. Provide explicit directions in prompts along with providing different models, charts and tables.

There is very little physical action when using digital materials as well as a textbook or workbook. However, there are some actions, for example, turning a page, writing, and typing on a keyboard. We do need to look at the learners who cannot do much physical action. Use a variety of methods that learners can use to respond and navigate with. For example, alternative requirements, physically response, and physically interacting. We can also make use of the assistive technology that we have in order to substitute for the different actions. Using keyboard commands for mouse actions, use overlays for touch screens and use software that is designed to work with different keyboards.

Some learners may have a harder time expressing written words, but can verbally tell you. Have to make sure that there is a variety of media when teaching, just they learn communication and not just writing. Using physical manipulative might be a way to help learners, or interactive web tools. Providing different tools to help learners be more successful in learning. Grammar and spelling checks, text-to-speech, calculators, and graphic organizers. Learners also should be exposed to different scaffolding tools because ion the end, they will have to know certain things. In order to help with this, a teacher may want to provide different models, mentors feedback, and different solutions for a problem.

There are certain abilities that the prefrontal cortex allows learners to do. They can manage impulsive reaction to their environment, make long-term goals, plan strategies, and be able to modify the strategies. Help learners set their goals, you can even try SMART goals. To go along with setting goals, a learner must formulate a plan so have them show how they plan to get to that goal. Having things to organize information helps certain learners do better, for example, graphic organizers or even checklists. Feedback is a major part in setting goals and/or just learning in general. Guide self-monitoring, show graphs or before and after pictures of the learners progress.
