A Little Something Different

"A Little Something Different" by Sandy Hall is a love story filled with lots of different kinds of emotions. This book is about 243 pages with the chapters labeled as months of the year. I think that this book is maybe more for highschoolers. I like this book because of it's fourteen viewpoint that include everything from the main characters to a squirrel of a random bus driver. This story starts with Lea and Gabe, the two main characters, that are in the same creative writing class that have a lot of the same interests and are similar people in the sense that they are both shy people. Throughout the book they develop feelings for each other even though they barely talk to each other. The whole time they are both very unaware that the feelings they have are mutual. Everyone around Lea and Gabe can tell that there is something between them but the two remain clueless. This book takes you through the minds of many different people who each have an opinion about what is happening in the book. It makes you feel happy at some times and stressed or sad at others. This is one of my favorite books and I would recommended it to anyone who enjoys a love story for teens.
8th Grade Semester 1

The Fault in Our Stars is by John Green who is one of my favorite authors. I have read many of his book and loved all of them including this one. This book has around 300 pages and 25 chapters and I think that this book is for teens/young adults. The novel is about a sixteen year old girl named Hazel Grace who was diagnosed with thyroid cancer that had spread to her lungs. Overtime, having cancer gave her a hard time that lead her mother to think that she was depressed which Hazel tended to deny. She ended up going to a support group that she was not very fond of until she met someone that changed her life story. Augustus Waters. Gus is part of the support group because of his bone cancer called osteosarcoma. He finds himself in Hazel's life changing her for the better. Together, Hazel and Gus go through an emotional roller coaster of adventures and finding what they want in their life then eventually find themselves start to fall for each other. I love this book and how it shows these two characters go through a tough time together. This heartfelt story is on of my favorite and I am sure that many others would love this book too.
8th Grade Semester 1

Love That Dog was a very fun book to read. This book was filled with a whole bunch of "poems", most of them about dogs. The author of this book also wrote a similar book called Hate That Cat and the well known book called Walk Two Moons (which won the Newbery Medal). Sharon Creech of this book expresses that he may have found a new love for writing and reading poetry. It was very entertaining to see his passion for poetry improve throughout the book. I think this book could almost be for everyone it is a fun book to read. I love how it talks about his emotions and thoughts and how the writing makes you laugh. Love That Dog only has about 128 pages filled with poetry. I recommend this book if you are looking for something fun a light to read.
8th Grade Semester 2

I really loved reading this book. Seeing the main character go through so many boy problems and drama was very intriguing and exciting to read. The book is about a girl, Lara Jean, who writes love letters to every boy that she ever loves. The thing is, She never really sends these letters. She keeps them in a box, hidden away. These letter contain every drop of emotion she feels towards each boy. She never ever plans to send them or even mention then but one day, the letters get mailed, and her adventure begins. This is a chapter book that has around 388 pages and is best for young adults with an interest for books about love and teenage fiction. I found this book very interesting. It was fun to be taken on the adventure of finding out how the letters got sent and what to do about it. The events that happen in this book are life changing for Lara Jean and she tells a great story.
8th Grade Semester 2

I have seen the movie and read Paper Towns and I enjoyed both. The book, of course, gave more details. The story shows the lives of two different people, Quentin Jacobsen and Margo Roth Spiegelman. These two people have different interest but they build a friendship based on taking risk and starting their own adventures. The novel is around 305 chapters and is, once again, for young adults. John Green is one of my favorites authors and I love a lot of his books, including this one. I really loved this book and I would recommended reading this.
8th Grade Semester 2
