My Learning Style

According to the test, I am an Auditory learner. This means that I learn best by listening to instruction or content. My second highest learning style is Visual. This means that I learn best by seeing things done and having things shown to me.

Auditory Learning

When I am learning something new, I typically learn best by hearing the teacher or presenting speak. I am often able to listen to a 1-2 hour lecture and get an understanding of everything that I need to. I was also a singer in high school, and while I could read the music, with difficult rhythms, I was able to perform better when I could listen to an example of the correct rhythm.

Visual Learning

I have noticed through my schooling that I learn best when I am able to both listen and create something that I can see, or see a visual that the instructor has created. An example of this would be me taking notes. Seeing the words that are being said in writing help solidify the information that I am trying to learn. I also find it helpful for things to be color coordinated, as I see color in my brain more than words or descriptions. If someone were to tell me to picture an apple, I would imagine the word "apple" in red. However, when it comes to remembering my notes, if they are color coordinated, then I can see the entire sheet with the words and memorize where the word is on the page that I need.
