Erasmus + project: "Winds of Change - a European Energetic (R) evolution"

Dear friends,
We are glad to share with you the fantastic week that we had with our friends from the Feldkirch School, Austria who were in exchange in Madeira with the Basic School of the 2nd and 3rd cycles of St. George - Cardinal D. Teodósio de Gouveia, from February 25 to March 4, 2017, under the Erasmus + project, "Winds of Change - a European Energetic (R) evolution", Key Action 2.

Reception at the School, with the Hymn of the parish of São Jorge, Madeira, Rincão Florido. Welcome snack with students, families and teachers. At night, participation in the Carnival Ball, with a mixed troupe of Madeiran and Austrian students, who won one of the prizes in competition.

Lunch with students, teachers, families and the whole educational community, animated by the Philharmonic Band of the Arch of St. George, ending with a game of volleyball between Portugal and Austria.

Presentation of the works of the Project, by the students of Portugal and Austria; Guided tour of the school; Offer of the official t-shirts with the logo of the project to all members of the two committees. In the afternoon, visit the breathtaking viewpoints of Caniçal, Baia de Abra, Machico Beach and Cristo Rei, in Caniço.

Visit to the Madeira Theme Park, with lunch included. In the afternoon, visit to the City of Funchal, which included the visit to the CR7 Museum and the participation of the students of the two countries in a troupe in the Carnival Trapalhão, before an audience of thousands, in the marginal of the Madeiran capital.

Visit to the watermill and sawmill of São Jorge, unique in operation on the island of Madeira; Wine and Vineyard Museum; Walking by the Sea; Visit to the São Vicente Caves, Veu da Noiva waterfall and the natural pools of Porto Moniz;

Attendance at school in the morning; Guided tour to the beautiful main church of São Jorge; Official Reception by the Mayor of Santana, w; Visit to Pico do Areeiro, to Ribeiro Frio, ending with a walk in the Levada dos Balcões.

Joint orientation test, in partnership with the Orienteering Association of Madeira.
In the afternoon, a variety show in the School auditorium, invigorated by the students of the project and the artistic modalities of the School, with the participation of the Choir of the 1st Cycle School, and the users of the Center for Occupational Activities of Santana (users with special educational needs); Project evaluation session. Farewell Dinner, with live music and participation of the entire educational community.

Visit to the Monte Palace tropical garden, the Monte church, the tomb of the Emperor Carlos of Aubsburgo, descent in the basket cars and terminus in the Panoramic Mountain Restaurant in Funchal.

After a week of extraordinary sharing, it is with a heart and soul filled, for all the moments lived together and also for the extraordinary feedback given by our partners who share the highest moment of a teaching institution that counts only seven years of life but with moments that will remain indelible in memory.

We look forward to the exchange from April 2-8, in the Austrian city of Feldkirch when our students will visit that school.
