A) Define the differences between surface-level and deep-level diversity.
- Surface level diversity includes characteristics that are visible. For example age, size, sex or race. Deep level diversity includes nonvisible traits such as values and beliefs.

B) Why does diversity matter in college? What are your comfort zones, and how might you expand them to connect more diversely?
- Diversity is important in college to gain life experience of others values, cultures and lifestyles that are different from what you are used to doing every day. My personal comfort zones are very open, but in order to spread and connect more diversity I could attend clubs or meetings to gain more knowledge on diversity.

C) What is cultural competency?
-This is the way that systems work with one another to preform effectively cross culturally.

D) Do an internet search for "unconscious bias." What does it say? Now think about the scenario we discussed in Unit 5 on Critical Thinking. Remember the perpetrator dropping money off by the orphanage? Think about the perpetrator you saw in your mind. What was the gender, approximate age, race, height, weight? What unconscious bias do you notice in your own thoughts based on this scenario?
- The internet search brought up " Unconscious Bias is often defined as prejudice or unsupported judgements in favor of or against one thing, person, or group as compared to another, in a way that is usually considered unfair."
When we did the perpertrator scenario, in my mind I pictured a white male, probably around late 20s early 30s, maybe 5 foot 11 inches and average weight, maybe on the skinnier side. My unconscious bias in this scenario was what I picture to be a common white male, because the scenario outcome I created in my head was that he was doing it for the better of the community, and just an average person.

The area that I am going to analyze is sleep. My sleep schedule is very bad recently so I figured analyzing that for this assignment might help motivate me to fix it. I usually go to bed around 2-3 am and dont wake up until around noon. The SMART goal that i am going to set is
- I will be in bed, at least trying to sleep by 10 PM, for the next three weeks, and wake up by 8 am, in order to get my sleep schedule back to normal for the future weeks to come.

I am going to be creating a budget by using the step by step instructions.
1. Determine Goals
- Short term goal is to save up enough money to be able to afford a vacation next summer, which is attainable and is a motivation to help me save.
- Long term goal is to save up enough money to be able to purchase a better car, which would be more reliable.

2. Categories I spend money on
Car- Insurance, gas, tires, oil changes
Living expenses- Rent, groceries, electrical bill
Entertainment- X-box subscription, netflix, going out
Savings- Putting money into savings for a trip this summer

3. Schedule adjustments
This is an interesting segment, My budgeting adjustments are actually very prominent right now with christmas coming up, so I have been cutting back on unnecessary expenses to get gifts for people. Also my parents and brothers birthday are all within two months after christmas so it will continue for a few months, as well as my car tabs expire in December.

4. Expenses that dont happen each month
Some expenses that I have to plan for that are infrequent, include car tabs and taxes, so I will be saving extra money the months before that in my savings to prepare for those.

5. Unexpected expenses
Technically my savings is also used for these unexpected expenses like car troubles, flat tires, and medical bills. However, I also have set aside an emergency fund that I dont have access to if an emergency came up which I add money to every other month, and will continue to do so.
