         <description><![CDATA[<div>"The Thirteenth Amendment outlawed slavery, and the Fifteenth Amendment said that the right to vote could not be restricted based on race or color. The Fourteenth Amendment was the longest and most complex of the three. It did three very important things:<br><br></div><ol><li>Granted citizenship to all persons born in the United States.</li><li><strong>Guaranteed</strong> due process of law from all state governments.</li><li>Guaranteed equal protection of the laws from all state governments."          <description><![CDATA[<div>The 14th amendment clearly states who is a citizen in the United States: Anyone that is born or naturalized in the country, as long as they are subject to U.S. jurisdiction. This was a big deal because for the first time anyone born in the U.S. could not be striped of their citizenship.</div>]]></description>

This act gave Native Americans the benefits of land ownership and eduction. The government would pay for schools which would help the Native Americans integrate into American society. </div>]]></description>
