Different sources are used to show the accuracy of this misconception, and how it is still detrimental to student writers trying to better their writing skills. It also gives examples of how people have faced this problem, and how they overcame it. Paz and Edwards are extremely educated on this topic, and it shows in this chapter of “Bad Ideas About Writing.”
