         <description><![CDATA[<div>        The 1970's were a time Women, African Americans, Native Americans, and other marginalized people continued their fight for equality. Many Americans joined the protest against the ongoing war in Vietnam. In some ways, the decade was a continuation of the 1960's.  <br>         The behavior of President, Richard Nixon, undermined many people’s faith in the good intentions of the federal government. </div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<ul><li><strong><em>Basketball</em></strong> : The ABA existed as a competing league to the NBA from 1967 to 1976.  </li><li><strong><em>Boxing</em></strong>: Famous people: Muhammad Ali age 76, George Foreman age 69, Sugar Ray Leonard age 62, Marvelous Marvin Hagler age 64, &amp; Larry Holmes age 69.</li><li><strong><em>Baseball </em></strong>: Baseball went through some of its most radical changes during the 1970's. The trend of multi-purpose stadiums made artificial fields more of a necessity than a novelty and by the decade’s end, nearly half of the teams were playing on it. Hundred-foot hops, infield seam hits and carpet burns from sliding fielders became the norm for players who rather would have done without the fake grass &amp; a video of a baseball game during the 1970's *video Below* .</li></ul>]]></description>

Ray Tomlinson sent the first email in 1971 on the ARPANET.</li><li><strong><em>1972-</em></strong>Atari 2600 was released put both the company and console gaming on the map.</li><li><strong><em>1975-</em></strong>Eastman Kodak and Steve Sasson made the first digital camera.</li><li><strong><em>1977-</em></strong>The Apple II was released in 1977. The Tandy Corperation luached the trs-80 through Radio Shack store. NASA launched ,the Voyager 1 and 2 .</li><li><strong><em>1979-</em></strong> the Sony Walkman was actually first marketed in 1979. </li></ul>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>-<strong><em>women</em></strong> (Early 70's)</div><ul><li>casual wardrobe:tight t-shirts/dresses with fitted wide lapel blazer, flared pants, sweaters, boots,Etc.</li><li>Hippie:bell bottom pants, frayed jeans, midi skirts maxi dresses, Etc.</li></ul><div> -<strong><em>men </em></strong></div><ul><li>bright colors,satin shirts with sometimes ruffles or lace,pared often with hip hugging bottoms.</li><li>casual looks:bell bottom jeans,tie dye, flannel shirts, pleated plants, platforms,boots or flops, oxford shoes with sweaters.</li></ul><div><strong>Fads</strong></div><ul><li>Disco: Disco's were used in the 1970's for parties and clubs, it was a large ball that would reflect light a spin at the same time.</li><li>Afro: The Afro was a new hairstyle that was very popular among black people.</li><li>Pet Rock: One day a group men where joking around about the perfect pet, one of the men came up with a rock. It didn't have to be fed or be potty trained. Is it really the perfect pet?</li><li>Mood rings: Mood rings were famous because they could tell your mood by changing color.</li></ul><div>ex.          <description><![CDATA[<div>Art during hippie was colorful. This was because they were still sad of the Vietnam war. They would paint their expressions. The decade saw performance art skyrocket from its crystallization in the 1960's as a style distinct from theater or music, new frontiers opened up in the art landscape, extending it beyond the streets of New York and as far afield as Japan, where conceptual group Gutai was flushed with painters who acted more like performers and performers who were working in clay, whose influences were felt in New York.</div>]]></description>

New Right conservatives resented and resisted what they saw as government meddling. For example, they fought against taxes, environmental regulations, highway speed limits, national park policies in the West (the “Sagebrush Rebellion”) and school desegregation plans.</div>]]></description>

<strong>Equal Rights Amendment(ERA</strong>)-1972 after years of campaigning by feminist, the congress approved the (ERA)also known as the Equal Rights Amendment to the constitution. It reads,"Equality of rights under thelaw shall not be denied or abridged by the US or by any state on account of gender."
