JVM Front Cover Sketch

The first sketch I am going to analyse is the sketch of my JVM front cover for my magazine. In this magazine I plan to keep the position of the logo, reasons are because it's placed in the top right corner of my magazine, meaning it will be the first thing people will see which therefore means the awareness of my brand will simultaneously be raised. Another reason is because a lot of shops that sell magazines place their magazines in magazine racks and most of the racks block what's on the bottom of the magazine, meaning nobody will see my logo unless they pick up the magazine itself. I plan to edit the model and get somebody completely different with a different style of clothing. I also plan to edit the flash at the bottom left and turn it red in colour and transform the shape into a diamond, reasons are because the colour stands out more on a grey background and and there isn't that many diamond flashes giving the feature a unique selling point. I also plan to edit the artist name and replace "O'Neil" for something else. I lastly wish to edit the barcode and make it stand vertically. There is nothing I wish to get rid of but in terms of improvement I would also like to put plugs on the right hand side of my magazine.

The last sketch I am going to analyse is the sketch of my JVM double page spread for my magazine. In this magazine I plan too again keep the house style, reasons are because it's unique in the sense I haven't seen any other hip hop magazine make a double page spread like it, making it stand out from the others and consequently attracting more of an audience. I plan to edit the position of my logo and centralise it, this is because I believe i will have a bigger impact in the middle due to the fact that it's over too pages, meaning it could be missed if i put it on just one. I also like all the others have a desire to again change the model and what he's wearing. I'd also like to change the position of my pull quote and insert it under my logo and over two pages. There isn't anything that I'd like to get rid of but as an improvement I would like to page numbers to make it look more official.

JVM Double Page Spread Sketch

The second sketch I am going to analyse is the sketch of my JVM contents page for my magazine. In this magazine I plan to keep the house style, reasons being because I believe it fits the style of my magazine very efficiently while simultaneously looking very modern and trendy, which will help attract my target market who are teenagers ad young adults. I plan to edit the title and change it to "The J - Side", this is justified because in my opinion it's more catchy and has a stronger cross reference to my magazine name. I also plan to again change the model and make him wear different clothes. On top of that I plan to get rid of the info on the right hand side as I believe it's unnecessary and I'd like to make my model take up that side as well. I lastly plan to improve the bottom bar by adding information about the photo shoots and stylist.
