I worked with a small cohort where we observed each other three times throughout the school year (one or two class periods at a time). We completed a pre-conference where the teacher being observed talked about his/her lesson plan, instructional strategies, and look fors. We then observed, and were able to work with or talk directly to students, observing their discourse or participating. We finished with a post conference summarizing the observation.
