AJN has high standards for submissions to their journal including standards set by three different organizations; International Committee of Medical Journal Editors, the World Association of Medical Editors, and the Committee on Publication Ethics.

They have an entire collection titled Evidenced Based Practice and its purpose is to provide problem-solving approach to the delivery of health care that integrates the best evidence from studies and patient care data with clinician expertise and patient preferences and values.

The PICOT question proposed seeks to find the best evidence based practice for the reduction of HAPIs and would fit perfectly into this collection of the journal.

There are several complexities that can flaw the accuracy of data when it comes to hospital acquired pressure injuries. As with any busy acute care unit, there can be differences in care between each nurse and staffing shortfalls can create missed turns on the unit. Proper documentation and charting on the unit for every completed turn, missed turn and refused turn would be impertinent to the analysis of data.

One potential aspect of the research that could be challenging would be making sure that data collected and results are accurate. The documentation process of the study would require each nurse to chart on their turns in the same format. Also each HAPI recorded in the study would need to be thoroughly reviewed to assure there were no other outside contributing factors that could have caused the HAPI. The AJN has very strict set of guidelines for submission including that the data in the study produced is accurate and reviewed.

References cited in the study would also need to be peer reviewed and cited from credible sources as the AJN will fact check the paper for credibility and accuracy. Proper format and citations would be needed as well as a well organized and formatted paper as The AJN also reviews the paper for "Readability and Accuracy."
