- I shortlisted those loops in Garageband that i found interesting and suited each other. When it did not sound pleasant, I went to find other loops. I also added in a motive and drum (beat) to make the music more engaging. 

Stage 2: Riser and Boom 
- I wanted the music to have a suspenseful effect and then a rising action followed by a climax. 1. Is Despacito any less ‘legit’ when played in the various versions? Why?
◦ To me, Despacito sounds less ’legit’ as there are no vocals.

2. Which version do you like best? Why?
◦ I prefer the version played by the cellos. The sounds made were more refined and modern to my generation and the video taken was professional, and it also made me feel very welcomed. 

3. Does Despacito become non-western music when played with ethnic instruments? Why?
◦ Despacito becomes a non-western music when played with ethnic instruments. The sound and emotions produced are not the same, some sounded happy while some sounded sad.

4. What is crucial to the style of a piece of music? (melody/ accompaniment /rhythm/ etc?)
◦ The accompaniment (instruments used) must be the same. It would make the piece of music more unique as people would know that the accompaniment is only for this particular song. 

5. Create a rhythmic accompaniment to the tune of Despacito. Perform the accompaniment rhythm with the recording of Despacito.
◦ I am unable to create a rhythmic accompaniment using GarageBand. However, i have researched on some very easy piano arrangement for despacito.

2. I prefer the teacher’s cupcakes. Even though both the teacher’s and my cupcakes taste similar, the teacher’s ones are healthier. So I can enjoy food and eat healthily at the same time.

3. In order to make the cupcakes more healthy, we can’t cut down use of sugar and fat (butter). We can also add in more fibres such as blueberries in the cupcakes. Or we can choose to replace white flour with wholegrain flour.

- I learnt that cooking rice looks easy but is actually quite complicated. I had to stir fry the garlic and onions first and then stir fry the rice, in order for the rice to absorb the fragrance. 
- Since I was in charge of pounding the chili, i had to start making it from scratch. I had to cut the chili into small and fine cubes for easy pounding, and had to keep taste-testing the chili every time i add in salt, sugar or lime juice. It was extremely tiring but worth it.

- I was in charge of making the meat sauce, so i had to remember all the correct procedures and amount of ingredients used. I finally managed to finish on time. Plus, my meat sauce was really good. 
- Afterwards, i had to work together with my partner to assemble the lasagna, and i learnt that making this dish was extremely easy (we managed to finish on time and get a very positive outcome - the cheese was golden brown). 
- I brought home my dish and let my family try it. They were really impressed for the first time and have decided to let me cook lasagna next time for the family. :)

- I was able to make the blueberry muffins healthy. I cut down the amount of sugar and replaced butter with oil. I replaced full fat milk with skimmed milk, and whipped cream with yoghurt. I had also replaced plain flour with whole meal flour 
- I used whisking method.

Were you able to manage time? 
- Yes.

Did you face difficulties? How did you overcome them? 
- Yes, I had burnt the top part of my blueberry muffins. I cut off the burnt part and covered it with yoghurt. 

How would you have done it differently? 
- I should control the heat in the oven.

How useful were the nutritional tools? 
-They were very effective. I replaced bad fats (cream, butter) with good fats (olive oil, yoghurt). I had also replaced plain flour with whole meal flour. 

How manageable were the manipulative skills for you? 
- Very manageable, I was able to finish mixing the dough in 25 minutes. 

How purposeful were the investigative activities in helping you come up with your final creation? 
- They were purposeful in helping me discover my strengths but not that effective in helping me in my final creation. - I learnt that potatoes are very easy to peel once they are boiled in boiling water. 
- I learnt Shepherd's Pie is very easy and fast to make,  and it is a simple one-dish meal.
