Standing over there
Looking at my long blonde hair

I take one step in and another one out
Then I look about
Sensing you without a doubt

I sensed the message that you flashed through my mind 
It felt like my body was in a bind

I pause for a second though it feels like more
Your presence has chilled me to the core

I understand that I don’t belong here in your cell
So now I shall leave your own personal hell

The examples above are figurative language because of rhyme scheme, imagery, the is alliteration, and the cell/jail symbolizes something to said spirit. My ending rhymes were created to make this poem seem a bit older, closer to the time period the ghost was from. My image was just made to show what actions I took when I first entered the cell ans sensed the spirit. Thirdly I created my little bit of alliteration to set a sorta of beat to help move the poem along. Lastly I symbolized the jail cell that this man was in as his own personal hell because that is what it was, he was stuck there til the day he died or was killed by the towns people.This poem is suppose to create the image of what it feels like to sense something and know it is really probably watching you.

While at the same time also creating some comic relief.

"We're gonna eat all these snacks cause we're out of clothes"-- Hyperbole. They are probably not going to eat all those snacks and they probably not out of clothes either. But again this was made to keep to the original tone and rhythm of the song.

(tons of)meows -- Onomatopeia. By this point in the song the writer ran out of things to say, and not wishing to repeat many of the lyrics he had already, so he put these in there for that purpose. This is the repeated imitation of a animal sound.

 "When I get up Imma go upstairs and shake my thighs"-- Imagery. This is included again for comic relief and to stick to the original tone of the song yet again. There is no reason for the singer to go up his stairs and shake his thighs. 

This is a basic parody for a very popular song from when the band was very popluar as well. If this song were meant to be serious it would probably make more sense.

For this instance the singer feels scared and nervous because this is the first time she is going out on her own, she has no memory of who she was, thus she asks her heart and courage not to leave or go.

" Let it lead me to my past--And bring me home...At last!"- End Rhyme. The writer of this song used a slight bit of end rhyme throughout it in order to appeal to the originally intended audience of the film, children (more specifically little girls). But as the years went on those children turned into adults and the rhythm stayed with them and now they share this movie with the next generation.

"Arms will open wide.--I'll be safe and wanted--Fin'lly home where I belong.''- Imagery. These lines obviously create the image of a safe and loving home environment, but what is also does is create is something that again appeals to children. For that is all a child wants, plus it keeps with the upbeat tune that they also love.

"Who knows where this road may go"- Alliteration. By using alliteration a beat or rhythm is created in the song making it appealing to listeners. The Who and When in this song creates the beat.
