Kahit naman ako noong isang taon di ko din alam ano ieexpect o gagawin. Di ko na i susugar coat, mahirap talaga senior high (Lalo ka na pre-calculus >:[ ). Pero di ibig sabihin di kakayanin. For sure may babagsak, at okay lang yun. Kaya naman bawiin pero dapat mas mataas ang effort sa susunod.

sa totoo lang, choose your friends carefully, pero don't be afraid to talk to other ppl. there's many more around you naman and ones you meet outside of classes

and for studies, it's best to dedicate at least an hour or 30 mins para sa topic/s na mahirap. di gagana ang cramming dito unless sinamahan mo ng dasal at swerte

and while talking to profs is difficult or hard to contact, you have your classmates and friends to ask help from. but there are profs who you can chat or approach and are very willing to help you learn more ^^

as for research, magisip na agad kayo ng topics since that's the hardest part - harder than the rrl actually. if nalaman niyo later on pa na di niyo magagawa, start from scratch yun.

first and foremost, prepare a white background picture of yourself wearing your type A uniform in the case your teacher tells you to change your zoom/google pfp. this is very likely to happen during your first week. not only that, it can and will also serve as your potential ID picture. (just make sure you aren't wearing heavy makeup and jewelry).

because your (probable) adviser is ma'am tare, she will either be your bio 1 teacher or research prof or both! beware, she teaches quite fast and a crash course version of the lessons, but she also doesn't provide her ppts in both bio and research. so take note and keep recordings when and if you can! (this can apply for all your courses but especially for classes that don't have books or other learning mats).

on research, you will probably be asked to form a research group on your first onsite day with research---if your prof is ma'am tare. not sure about other profs but it's still highly likely! in terms of research topics, avoid very common/overused topics, especially those involving socmed. please, please, be careful when choosing your topics and consult when you can. do be prepared to brainstorm 24/7 and face multiple rejections and revisions. safest bet for a topic is something related to biology ^^

on moving exams: REVIEW!! but and also, take your time and do NOT touch any of the microscope or provided materials in your stations. for lab work, you will need a lab coat with your surname embroidered on the back.

in the chance that you have multiple quizzes/deadlines set on the same day/week with a major course (genmath, sci, bio, etc.) you can very much communicate with some of your profs! often times, they will understand naman, especially when it clashes with math-related matters.

sa lib, you can only enter when you're wearing your type A/B uniform, often never your PE. you guys can chill there during your free time and use it a study/meeting place for your acads, esp with your research team! coordinate rin with your profs for the subjects that go after your PE sched if you can wear your PE uniforms since minsan, hassle na magpalit uni, especially if last subject naman na.

most of the time, you don't have to bring papers and notebooks, that mostly depends on you. but try to have at least one or two blockmates who carry around a sheet of yellow pad and 1/4th sheet of paper.

join orgs, they're pretty fun! afaik, you can join as much as three. there'll be a rec week exclusive for that wherein you'll learn more about some orgs and garner the opportunity to apply!!

lastly, never mag mema sa kahit anong course. as much as you can, give your best to all your petas. HEAVY on petas, btw. okay lang if individual works/quizzes. but when it comes to group works, don't sacrifice one in favor of focusing on another no matter what. even if you excel on one but still fall short on another, the gain won't be as worth it in the end.

remember, when you're running on no sleep, the least you can do is eat! vice versa.

Hello, Juniors!

Always remember that nothing is impossible. Improbable lang kasi of course it won't happen if you don't work for it. Your ate is not an expert pero I do know that the best advice I could give you is to believe in yourself. Want mo ba maging academic achiever? Want mo ba magkaroon ng Bachelor of Organizations Major in Multitasking? Then all you have to do is believe in yourself that you can achieve your goals and that you can make it happen!!

Also, another advice I want to give you is surround yourself with good people. You will not enjoy the highs of being a Thomasian if you do not surround yourselves with the right people. Una sa lahat, makakahelp yan with group projects. Automatic na dapat friends ang kagrupo pero yung siguradong nagtatrabaho (don't be the pabigat person and don't be with a pabigat person) kimi 1/2 pero that's the reality. Hindi maiiwasan na may mga taong hindi mo kasundo sa projects kaya make sure to choose your friends wisely !!

Lastly, another advice I want to tell you is control your emotions. Mag breakdown ka, umiyak ka, magwala ka. Pero NEVER SAY YOU ARE A FAILURE. Being here at UST is already a success. It is a privilege not many students have. Kaya when times get heard, take a break. Huwag sisisihin ang sarili pag mababa ang exam or whatnot. Instead of blaming yourself, bumawi ka. Pagbutihan mo sa susunod. Improve your skills and study harder. Nevertheless, us, your ates and kuyas will always be here for you!!
