Equality is very important to me. I feel as if we are all human and should all be treated with respect no matter the race, sexual preference, etc. I don't believe that someone should be judged or treated differently just based on one of those things. In the world today, it isn't okay and people just need to learn to move on from the past and adjust to the way things are now.
How would you describe your level of interest in current events/politics?
I am very interested in current events and politics! I just feel like I have a very broad level of knowledge on certain topics and would like to further my education about it. I really enjoyed the way they read the Declaration of Independence. I thought it was interesting how there was multiple different people reading because it encouraged the audience to continue paying attention by them switching up the voices.
What is your favorite part of the Declaration of Independence?

The movie was actually really good I thought! The beginning of the movie moved kind of slow and was slightly boring to watch but the second half of the movie was great. It began to get way more intense and entertaining during the part that we watch this class period. I liked when Jefferson Smith was standing up for himself and the one guy (I really cannot remember his name but he was short with white hair and glasses) asked him to yield and Smith yelled and said no. I just thought it was funny and also interesting to see that he could actually do that and not get in trouble. I also thought it was funny when the girl was up in the stands making hand motions to tell Smith what to say and the president saw her doing so. Overall, the plot and the movie itself were great and I enjoyed watching it.

I think that out of all of the political parties, Mr. Smith belonged to the liberal political party. Today, I think that he would also remain in the liberal side of the political spectrum as well. I think that Mr. Smith continued in politics but also played a big role in the community itself as well. I think that he would open the camp for the boy scouts and continue to make advancements involving the camp for the boys. I think that he would keep building onto it and making new things happen for the boy scouts. I also think that he would keep proposing new bills in order to benefit everyone in the community. 

I think that Jefferson Smith is a lot like our Illinois congressman Rodney Davis. Rodney Davis is a congressman who is really involved in the community and supports his community a lot. I think that senator Jefferson Smith was a lot like that too involving the boy scouts and their camp. Congressman Rodney Davis supports his community in a lot of different ways. One of the biggest ways that he does so is through his twitter account. In one of his tweets, he congratulates the Lady Sabers on their win in the 2a volleyball state championship. This shows that he supports local communities in extracurricular activities just like Jefferson Smith supported the boy scouts and wanted to create a camp for them to continue their activities. Rodney Davis has several tweets that show his support and commitment towards the community. (It would not allow me to link his twitter page because twitter is blocked but if you go on twitter his username is @RodneyDavis and you can see his tweets!)
