The main difference between persuasion and argument is that persuasion is you are trying to get someone to change their mind about something and you put your opinion in there to change their mind. With argument you are not listing your opinion but you are stating facts about something and showing how it could be true. You aren't trying to convince someone with the argument but you are trying to get them to see your side.
