The cotton club was very popular along with the &quot;jingle sound&quot; through out the city.&amp;nbsp;</title>

         <title>BAR- &amp;nbsp; &amp;nbsp; &amp;nbsp;In 1923 the club opened by &quot;Owney&quot; madden a white gangster mainly used the club for his his 1# beer to sell for the &amp;nbsp;Prohibition&amp;nbsp;crowd. The club was closed several&amp;nbsp;times for selling alcahol then. The only big closing was in febuary 1923.</title>

         <title>LOCATION- &amp;nbsp; &amp;nbsp; &amp;nbsp; After 14 years of&amp;nbsp;successful&amp;nbsp;club business riots in harlem began to&amp;nbsp;grow and its was a very unsafe neighborhood to live in at the time. The cotton club was forced to shut down in February 1936. It then re opened in september 1936 but with a new location. 48th street downtown. It remained there until june 1940&amp;nbsp;</title>
