-Dark ages lasted from 1100 BC to 700 BC. Very little records from this time were kept.
-In 800, Sparta was established . Their main prospect in life was war. The Spartans flourished until 600 BC.
-In 700 Bc, Athens became another major city state. 
-Athens fell into turmoil at the end of the seventh century BC. 
-Cleisthenes laid down the foundations for democracy. 
-Classical Greece lasted from 588 to 300 BC. Pericles helped to expand Greece and direct democracy flourished. 
-The Hellenistic Period began in 300 BC and brought great expansion.
