This shows Anglo-Saxon culture because Beowulf shows bravery and gives his final goodbye to his comrades. He also shows honor amongst his friends by saying he wishes to be honorable and not use weapons against his opponents if they do not use weapons. Beowulf says all of this to Wiglaf and his followers.
