The First Commandment applies to my own life as sometimes I get busy and sidetracked with school, extracurriculars, friends, etc. and forget that before anything else in my life, God comes first. Now and then I need to give my head a good shake and remember that if I put Him first, everything else will fall into place again, and things will make sense and be okay. I shouldn't forget that He is the one who created me and I should always put Him before anything else.

The Sixth Commandment applies to my own life, not by the way of literal murder perhaps, but by the contextual meaning of it. Such as hurting others, or putting people down inside and making them feel as though their spirit has been "killed". This could also be described as bullying, which I happen to see everyday in the media, at school, etc. I personally know how much it hurts to be put down, and I think we all, especially as teenagers, need to respect that its not right to feel this way. We all deserve to be treated as equals, not putting each other down to make us feel better about ourselves. I think if we follow the motto, "Treat others the way you want to be treated", a lot of things would change in our perspectives. As God does not want us to hurt or "kill" each other down.

The Ninth Commandment applies to my own life as I have realized that lying gets you nowhere. They teach us in Kindergarten, "Always tell the truth". And honestly, those are some words to live by. As teenagers, you don't want to lie to your parents because at this point of your life, it really helps you out a lot to have their trust. Think of it this way: if you feel as though you need to lie, you probably aren't making a wise decision if you have to hide it. Lying to your friends just results into no trust once again, and in the end, probably won't be a strong friendship. I think God is really just giving us straight up good advice in Commandment #9 because lying, really doesn't help us out.
