         <description><![CDATA[<div>In the midst of the social change, it is quite surprising that an outsider like Grenouille was able to sustain his life for such a long time. I believe that the Bourgeoisie Liberal Revolution played a key role in sustaining him. Prior to the revolution, humanity was barely existent, with all the power in the hands of a few. However, with the start of the revolution, the mindset evolved, allowing Grenouille to be sent to a foster care. In addition, since there were enough demands (as the middle class got richer), he was able to live off making perfumes. </div>]]></description>

         <title>Suskind is an extremely anti-social person, who secluded himself from society. In Perfume, Grenouille is a character who also tries to stay away from society. There was also a seven year period in which Grenouille completely isolated himself from the rest of the world by living in a cave. Suskind could be representing himself through the character Grenouille.</title>
