Whether it's long or short term, a mentor is there as a helping hand to be of emotional, mental, and sometimes social support. They are a trusted source of experience who can help with career and personal development.
The role of a mentee to me is to be responsible of constant communication and transparency with the mentor. They should know what is to be discussed and what to ask guidance for. It is also important that a mentee organises proper and professional timings to meet their mentor, and treat the relationship seriously.

Personally I get motivated by staying organized and constantly learning or doing something new. This can be meeting new people, being assigned fresh tasks, or being in a new setting or atmosphere. Due to the extremely low occupancy, the hotel was expecting no more than the usual amount of bookings because of the pandemic. The hotel had already cut staff as minimal workers as possible, with unpaid trainees as the only source of extra hands around. The overwhelming wave of extra last-minute bookings came in the day of arrival, and to keep up with the amount of guests coming, the already short-staffed housekeeping department had to work on extreme overtime whether they wanted to or not. There was definitely a lot of complaining from the guests for not having the rooms ready on time. I believe this issue happened due to lack of forecasting and anticipation. I think this because I notice my friends with more powerful passports receiving better work opportunities than I do despite lower competencies. In the past, I have gotten rejected by a lot of companies in countries who do not wish to grant a work permit.
