-19 students
-6 girls, 13 boys
-5 IEPs
Overall my class was a challenging group of students to work with, but it gave me the experience in modifying my instruction to meet the needs of every student. They were willing to share their interest and personal lives with me. Many of them had common interest such as the sports they played or games they like at home. They focused better and participated when I centered a lesson around their personal experiences. I noticed that a few students benefited from behavior management systems and I feel the challenges they gave me helped improve my classroom management skills. They were a friendly group of students and were constantly willing to work as a team. I noticed they were very much aware of their peers and liked to be creative in their learning (drawing!!!)

It was tough to actually get all of the students interested. The students loved to talk to me and inform me about anything and everything about themselves. A few enjoyed to play sports like basketball. A bunch of the students enjoyed video games like Minecraft and Fortnite. I noticed that when I used the students in my examples. I used Fortnite and Minecraft examples and the entire class lit up when I did it. All in all the class was tough but I really enjoyed my time in this class.

- 20 Students
-9 boys, 11 girls
-7 IEPs, 3 of them were for gifted
My class was a really a great class. They were on the younger side, being that most of them turn 9 in the spring.
-They all loved Kahoot, playing games, and singing songs. Actually some of the girls in the class created a music club during recess and would sing songs. I would use songs and rhymes when teaching, and they seemed to really like that. They also really liked animals, youtube, and unicorns.
-They were friendly with each other and loved to talk about themselves. They also preferred partner work, even when I chose the partners.
-I had one student that ended up leaving the class and joining the Behavioral/emotional room. He had a tough time transitioning and would shut down when told to do work.
-We had a flexible seating room, and most of the students moved around the room quite a bit. Everyday they would try to sit somewhere new.

I think that it was because they were young.
-They loved running, jumping, and chasing each other during outdoor recess.
-There were 3 students with glasses, but 2 of them always forgot them at home.
-Because we had flexible seating: some stood, some sat on the floor, we even had a couple kids sprawled out during reading, and review times.

-My students loved to talk! They liked to talk to each other, and to me. They were all friendly to each other. We only had a couple problems during the whole 7 weeks. One was between 2 girls in the lunch room, and the other was between 2 boys.
-We had a student who struggled with anger management and ended up having to leave our classroom.
-One student over used the "zones". She would claim that she was in a yellow, or red zone to get attention. I noticed she would do this if I was helping another student. She also would walk up to me instead of waiting for me to come to her.
-The new student seemed shy, but willing to make friends. He was quiet but once he started laughing.. it was contagious! I would have to place him into a group. He didn't seem comfortable to just walk up and join students.

The 4 students that were low went to the support room most of the day.

We did have varying abilities in math, but that just depended on what we were learning. At one point I had the low group in math and there were 6 of them. But as they started to understand they would move to the middle group. The higher level group worked on their own, and usually had enrichment work to do. I also got a chance to work with them once.

During writing, I would have to remind some of them that I wanted 5 sentences, or 3 key details. But they usually liked the writing part of the day because it focused on them and something that was personal for them to write about.
