Identify Modern Themes:

Think about contemporary issues, ideologies, or societal norms that can be represented in the allegory. Consider technology, social media, politics, or cultural shifts.

Create Characters:

Develop characters that represent different aspects of modern society. Consider using archetypes to symbolize certain ideas or groups.

Craft the Setting:

Design the environment where the modern allegory will unfold. Consider how the setting reflects the conditions and influences the characters.

Define Shadows and Reality:

Determine what the shadows on the cave wall will represent in your allegory. This could be misinformation, societal expectations, or any other aspect that distorts reality.

Introduce Liberation:

Devise a way for the characters to experience liberation or enlightenment, mirroring the journey of the prisoners in Plato's cave.

Explore Enlightenment:

Delve into the process of enlightenment for the characters. What revelations do they have? How do they react to the truth?

Address Resistance:

Acknowledge the challenges and resistance the characters might face when exposed to the truth. This could involve societal backlash or personal struggles.

Incorporate Dialogue: give a general overview here of the concepts in the dialogue, but actual dialogue will be written on a google doc

Use dialogue to convey philosophical ideas and debates within the allegory. This can help engage your audience and deepen the exploration of concepts.

Explain the truths

Explain the truth as perceived by your captives, the truth as perceived by the liberated captive, and the overall truth of the allegory that you are trying to explain (ex. Plato's allegory is a construction of literary elements that demonstrate a need for enlightenment through education, for the goal of ideas in society)

Conclude with Reflection:

Wrap up your allegory by allowing the characters to reflect on their newfound understanding. Consider the implications for both individuals and society.

A guy who is scrolling on Instagram finally sees the true world.

modern day of the effects of social media

A boy - a teen boy that represents the teen group of our society today.

A boy sitting at home on his phone. Looking through the most recent post on Instagram.

The shadow in this story is being on your phone and the entertainment that it gives you. The chain is the notification it's the thing that is holding the boy back or drawing attention to itself.

the curtain and the fire in this story are the filters and the lies that are on Instagram. The boy only gets to see the world through what others see.

The boy decides to put his phone down he starts to realize the things around his house and that he has a life outside of his phone. He goes outside his house and sees the true beauty of the world and sees the world through his own lens.

While this boy goes back inside and says that the world is better than any filter on social media could change his brother doesn't want to leave his phone and he wants to stay on their phone for entertainment and to continue being lazy.

script on Google Docs.

truths in this story show the truths of the outside world. It shows that the world tries to hide the truths with entertainment or happiness. Later he figures and realizes that there is more than just phones and he sees things in the house that show that he has things more valuable. later he goes outside to see the world without a filter of others.

The main point of our allegory is to show that there is a whole world outside of your phone but there are too many lazy people who don't want to get up and see it for themselves. It shows that there are more valuable things in the world even if you don't see them at the time.

Tommy

Issac

Our allegory represents when people have something called Body Dysmorphia. This basically means that they are never satisfied with what they look like. In our allegory the drawing of a man that looks in the mirror and sees an image completely different than reality because he believes something that isn't true.

Modern theme of social media and comparison to the influencers that we look up to. The influencers only display the highlights of their lives or the edited photo so people will always chase what is really unachievable or give up before they can achieve it.

Andrew Eubank is our Character in the drawing that represents a modern man trying to make his body look the best as possible. He sees himself in the mirror and he is big and macular but for some reason in his head he believes that he is skinny and will never look good enough because he cares about everyone else's opinion of him.

The setting is a bathroom looking into a mirror. This is a common place where gym goers or any common person judges their physical appearance so it shows the guy chasing results but doesn't see them like everyone else does. He compares his daily progress to someone that worked for 10 years to get.

The shadow in this allegory would be the image that the man puts in his head. Because he believes that he is skinny but in reality he is actually very muscular.

The picture that we have drawn doesn't specifically show a liberation for our Character but behind what the drawing shows the liberation is compliments from other people. When he finally realizes that other people see the results from his handwork even if he can't see them.

He has the revelation that he is a very good looking guy that has the muscles that he originally wanted when he started working out. Once someone told him that they saw the result he began to gain confidence and own the body that he has.

He resists the fact that he really looks good for most of his life so when people compliment him he doesn't want to believe what they are saying. He has to question the statement first in his mind before he can believe it. This is a big issue to many people in society because many people think they are fat when in reality they aren't at all they are just comparing to someone else.

There will be a full script in the future.

Truths in the allegory would be the fact that he is shredded in reality but he doesn't want to believe it. He doesn't grasp the truth until he gets a compliment and then sees the progress picture from the past year to see the change that he has gone through.

The main point of this allegory is to demonstrate how our society wants to compare to social media or even just someone that we are jealous of. But the truth is we are made by God and we are perfectly crafted and unique in his eyes. People want to believe that the grass is greener somewhere else but we can just make the best of what we have and own the fact that we look good. We don't have to care about what others think about our bodies or compare to social media influencers.

Roles:

Luke: Drawing

Jake: padlet

Jackson: Dialouge and story telling

The other post is an old one that I couldn't edit.

An atheist finds out the world is not based on science but based on the truth of the Bible.

People are believing Science over the Bible.

Atheist believers are in chains because we are prisoners of satan. They are more metaphorical chains than literal chains. The devil holds up scientific beliefs to try and deny them the belief in the gospel

Jesus is the fire thingy and he brings salvation Christian believer saves atheists from their beliefs

The main character's house is where it all begins. Then it goes onto Twitter where the main character runs into the atheists and the Christian believer. It influences the characters through the use of easy access to information and kind of an underlying meaning of don't believe everything you see or hear.

Big Bang, Evolution - monkey ape to caveman, Scientific method. These are things the captives believe and are stuck up on that the world can be proved scientifically.

The main character opens up another Twitter post by Christian and realizes the truth of the world. Thus unveiling the fog Satan has put over the world. He learns about all that Jesus has done for him so he can gain entry into Heaven one day. Thus from the one post that leads him to faith, he reads more posts from the original poster and realizes that he can't work himself to Heaven only by faith. He is obedient to the Great Commission and is striving towards sanctification.

The main character learns about the true creator of the world. He was first shocked by how the Christian post directly contradicted the atheist post. They learn about all the Christian terms and what it is like to be one. They are relieved that now they are guaranteed entry into Heaven. They know the Sunday school Christian answers now.

The other atheists don't believe him and are stuck up in their ways of belief. They don't believe in God The new Christian who was formally atheist tries as hard as he can to show them God. Society as a whole might shun him now for becoming Christian. They are still under the fog of Satan.

The main character goes back to the atheist post after learning what it is like to be a Christian. He tries to evangelize to them but the atheists mock him. He decides to stay and to continue conversing with them hoping one day they come to Christ. While also praying to God that by his will he will soften their hearts so he can successfully evangelize to them.

The truth of the world is that there is a creator and it is the Bible. The world wasn't created by the Big Bang and you can't trust science in all of life. The only way to Heaven is through belief in what Jesus has done.

He learns about the truth of the world, realizing that it shouldn't be based on science but on God's will. He learns that the atheist commenters haven't come to God yet but he prays that they will. He is now an upstanding Christian who adheres to what the Bible says. While knowing the only way to Heaven is through faith in Jesus. He has realized that Satan is the prince of this world and has control over it but he knows the one who has the real power is God and judgment he will bring.

Gabe leads story development

Charlie leads the illustration of the story

but we both help out in the areas.

The reality is that women are getting hurt.

A random person in the stands watching, goes to a friend watching on TV to show him that the trans-women actually beat the other up

They realize that this is dangerous and they are shocked and astounded that the reporter would not show this on tv.

Society says everyone can be whatever they want and we should accept everyone, so that means it's okay for trans people to compete in athletics, but people don't want to speak up and be seen as transphobic.

The overview of the dialogue will be between the person in the arena and the person watching on tv, exposing the lies.

Our truth is that transpeople shouldn't compete in athletics because it is dangerous and there are consequences to their actions.

The main point is to demonstrate how dangerous transpeople competing in athletics is.

Emma is responsible for the dialogue

Reese is responsible for picking the pictures to go on our collage
