I think the Trump and Putin meeting was strange. They had a lot of show, but no a real peace deal. Trump said it was good, but I don’t see big results. Putin looked happy because he got more attention. For me, it feels like Putin won more, and is kinda unfair for Ukraine, they are still waiting for help.

WEEK 6 - GLOBALIZATION

Topic: Globalization

For me globalization, I think is something see it every day. For example, last week I bought jeans in a local store, but when I checked the tag, it said “Made in Thailand.” That made me think: my money goes far away, and people I don’t know made this jeans. In my community, globalization is also in the food. My family sometimes eats tacos, but also pizza, pasta, or hamburgers. We don’t even think about it, but these foods come from different countries. Also, on tiktok and instagram I see videos from people in other places, and i learn words or songs from them.

I like globalization because it connects me with the world. I can listen to korean music, watch an american series, and buy products from China all in one day. But I also think it is not always fair. Some workers in other countries don’t get good salaries, even if we pay a lot for the product here. For me, globalization offers a big opportunity to meet the world, it gives me new things and ideas, but it also makes me ask, who wins more from it, and who loses?

On August 25, in Tecnológico de Monterrey, Querétaro, there was a very strong rain. The rain caused floods inside the campus. The water entered some buildings and many students had to leave fast. The situation was difficult and scary, but finally everyone was safe.

For me, it was shocking and a little sad. I think our school must be more prepared for big rains. Also, I feel thankful because no one was hurt. It is important that the school protects the students.

In Mexico, many women are killed only because they are women. This is called feminicide. The cause is machismo, the idea that men are stronger and more important. The government many times does not help, and families do not get justice.

Proposal:
We must fight feminicides with strong laws, less corruption, and better police work. Society and government need to work together.

Justification:
This is important because many women die every day. It is not only crime, but also culture and power. If Mexico wants peace and equality, it must protect women and respect gender rights.

I think the Bank of International Settlements is important because it helps countries work together with money and banks. It makes sure that the world economy is more stable and safe. Even if it sounds a little boring, I think it’s cool that different countries can help each other with their banks. In my opinion, this bank helps avoid big financial problems and keeps things organized between nations.

My teacher made us do a group presentation about free trade and international trade, and we presented it to our classmates. We explained what it means and shared our opinions.

I learned that free trade and international trade sound like good ideas because countries can buy and sell products to help each other. This can make things cheaper and give people more options.

But in real life, it is not always fair. Rich countries and big companies usually win more, and poor countries or small farmers lose. In Mexico, for example, many farmers sell their products for very low prices because they can’t compete with big companies from other countries.

I think that is unfair because they work very hard and deserve better. In my opinion, international trade should be more fair and help all people, not only the rich or powerful ones.

He told us to take one sheet of paper and make it go through our whole body without breaking it.

We tried cutting and folding the paper in many ways, and finally, we learned that if we cut it carefully, we could make a big circle that could go around our body.

I think our teacher wanted to teach us that sometimes things look impossible, but if we think creatively, we can find a solution. I learned to work better with patience and teamwork.

I think gender equality is very important. Women and girls should have the same opportunities as men. (Actually my case study subject is really connected with these). They should go to school, work in any job, and be safe from violence. It is not fair that women do more unpaid work at home and get less money than men. Women should also have more chances to be leaders and make decisions. If we want a better world, we need to respect and support women and girls. Everyone can help by learning, speaking up, and treating people equally.

In this activity, we visited a tunnel at my the school. It was very interesting because it shows many historical events. Most part of it was about the Holocaust. I learned how many people suffered and it was very sad but important to know. The tunnel has pictures, stories, and things from history. I liked the place a lot because it helps you understand the past and why we need to be kind and respectful today. I think every student of TEC should visit it.
