         <description><![CDATA[<p>Based in Newtown, Pennsylvania, David DiMella is an aerospace engineering student who began an aeronautics track in 2019 with an expected graduation date of 2024. His time at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University in Daytona Beach, Florida, has included internship opportunities. As an aircraft manufacturing intern with Sonex, LLC, he was responsible for programming and operating a three-axis mill table. His daily activities involved working on machine parts for aerobatic experimental aircraft, as well as the design of limited production parts used in ROTAX-powered Light Sport Aircraft engines. In the past, David DiMella has engaged with the Embry-Riddle Baja Society of Automotive Engineers team and the Princeton High School Engineering Club, which he founded and led as co-president for two years.</p><p>David DiMella’s coursework at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University has involved hands-on work with modern aircraft, including the Learjet 24 business jet. He has also used a variety of industrial equipment, including wind tunnels, which he used to test a Formula 1-style rear wing. His interests outside of engineering include snowboarding and golfing.</p>]]></description>
