Uncle Mark - Omari Hardwick

Omari Hardwick played in Power and I feel like he took on the role of Ghost very well. He has experience in roles like that due to his playing Ghost. He was torn between the "streets" and trying to pursue a better future. He is also an older man but not too old so I feel like he would be able to understand the character of Will.

Pop- Trevante Rhodes

Rhodes played Pop in Moonlight, and I feel like he would be a good actor for the role. He's gone through the hardships of death, his mother being an addict in Moonlight. So, I think it would fit right into his genre of acting styles, and he would be great in Long Way Down.

Buck- Mahershala Ali

Ali also played in Moonlight. I think he would play a good Buck. He was like a father figure in Moonlight. So he knows how to play that role. He knows how to take on the character in a life cycle of violence. He's also a charmer which I seen a lot in Buck. I know he would be able to bring light to some of the situations talked about in Long Way Down but also have the ability to be deep and serious.

Will's Mom-Alfre Woodard

Alfre has played in movies like 12 Years A Slave and knew how to embody the emotions from tough to vulnerable. With Long Way Down they didn't really give much detail about Will and Shawn's mom. So in this case I'm going to go off of what I think she would look like and If they do decide to add more character to their mom she would play it well.

Shawn- Omar Epps (Young)

He played in Love And Basketball and I feel like he would be a good Shawn. If I had to imagine what Shawn looked like I would think of him. I feel like Shawn would have acted like him.

Will-Danté Crichlow

Chrichlow was in See You Yesterday. He reminds me of Will's character look wise. I know he would be able to play Will by his acting. The movies and shows he has doesn't really express that except for in We Own The City where he had to make some hard choices. But other than that this is just going off of looks.

Dani-Taylor russell

I chose Taylor because I loved her character in Waves. I know she would be able to show the emotions needed. She would really bring emotion when It comes to some of the situations talked about in Long Way Down. I also think this is what Dani looks like.

Tony- Tyrel Jackson Williams

He was on Lab Rats and I think he looks like what Tony would look like. He usually plays younger kid roles so I think it would fit the character of Tony.

Flick- Jaden Smith

I feel that, because I didn't know much about Flick, I couldn't give him anything to go off of. I decided to pick Jaden Smith for Flick because I know that Jaden is a good actor.

Riggs- Manny Montana

I decided to put Manny Montana as Riggs because this is what I think Riggs would look like. Montana was also on Good Girls and played his role very well.
