I've always rode my own wave. 

It didn't take me long to break out of my shell, 

Or fall adrift from my homely cave.

“Sail on, go explore” was told to me

 “no coasting towards the past.

Just dive right into life head first,

Where’s the fun without a little splash?”

So I lived, and learned and loved all I could,

And still aware that life hid more,

I searched every corner, turned every page,

 Look desperately along every shore.

In the calm setting sun, I was able to find

A reflection of my soul’s true purpose;

It made me hold my breath, kick my feet godspeed,

And not stop till I reach the surface.

Stepped out of a hot tub of uncertainty,

 Again, choosing to be vibrant, spirited, grand!

I choose the drifting freedom of the horizon

Until the day you find me buried beneath the sand.
