DECIDE is an acronym for a decisions making process that starts with defining a goal. Having a goal can make you question whether or not a purchase is helping you make it to your end goal. Establishing your criteria is the next step where you decide what qualifications should be made. Then you must choose two or three options that you can compare to each other. After you choose options you must way the pros and cons of each choice. Then with pros and cons clearly listed you decide which option has the most or best pros. Finally you evaluate your purchase to help you understand if you used the process appropriately.

I have had to use a process like DECIDE before where I had to make a decision in class. This does not apply to a purchase but, choosing an engineering project this year. We had to go through the entire process to decide how relevant or good our project ideas were. Our goal was to find a real world solution to a real world problem that we would work on all year. We then listed possible problems and solutions that we compared using what is called a decision matrix to compare. Then from there we picked projects to pursue.
