1.1 What is research? Primary/Secondary? - primary research is information you have discovered by yourself using questionnaires or surveys for the very first time. Secondary research is information that other people have discovered by themselves and then published.

1.3 identify problems the companies may face when conducting research - One problem is that the research is that the information may not be reliable or is may be biased. The information on the website may be out dated.

1.4 What are the benefits/ purpose of research that the company caries out? - One benefit/ purpose is to gain information on the product the company is going to produce and also peoples opinions on how it could be better.

Also that a good researcher is able to find large quantities of information and objective information that is useful to the specific thing they are researching. 3.

Mission Statement

The idea I had created for my magazine is that it is going
to be a PC magazine that mainly focuses on games and equipment such as
keyboards and monitors. My magazine is going to be aimed at both men and women
that play computer games between the ages of 16 – 50 years old. The magazine is
going to be a monthly release and will cost about £2.50. Also that it is not
only for people that are interested in games but also people that like or want
the new products that will be displayed within the magazine. It is aimed at
people within the social-economical group of B-D as they are more likely to
play games and afford what is displayed within the magazine. Within the
magazine I would like to have a section that speaks about new and upcoming
games of the month the magazine is published in and also have a section which
highlights a small time gaming company with what games/products they have
released and what is going to happen in the future. Also within the magazine
new products that have been released or are going to be released are going to
be shown and a review along with it.

Target audience

From research I had conducted, I
had found out that my target audience are usually between the age of 16-28 and
a majority of them will be male readers. I had also found that the
socialeconomic status of the readers is going to be around B - C3 as within
these groups a majority of them play video games. This means they are my target
audience as they will be the most interested in my magazine and most likely to
buy it. I also found that my magazine would appeal to all races as every race
mentioned play video games
