         <description><![CDATA[<div>The Proclamation Line of 1763 was an invisible boundary line that forbid colonists from settling west of the Appalachian Mountains. This protected the colonists from the Indians. Colonists did not want to be told where they could and could not live so they were angered by this.</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>A tax placed on all printed material by Great Britain like newspapers which was placed on all colonists. This was Great Britain's way of trying to get out of the deep debt they were in which was caused by the Seven Years War. This made the colonists upset and they began to try to intimidate the tax collectors.</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>A meeting in October of 1765 held in New York. Representatives from nine of the American colonies attended this meeting. They wanted to meet so they could discuss petitioning the King of England for a repeal of the Stamp Act. This was also the first time any of the colonies came together to solve a problem.</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>The Declaratory Act stated that the British parliament could basically tax the Americans the same way they taxed the people of Great Britain. This showed the authority and dominance that the British had over the colonies. The people within the colonies obviously did not not like nor did they agree with this act.</div>]]></description>

         <title>#6 The Boston Massacre March 5, 1770</title>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>A crowd of colonists in Massachusetts began to insult some of the British Soldiers that were there. The colonists became violent and started to throw things at the soldiers. The soldiers apparently heard "fire" and began to shoot at the crowd. Five people were killed and they were first colonists to be killed in the war for independence. This did not sit well with the colonists.</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>The intolerable acts were created because of the Boston Tea  Party. They were a set of laws meant to punish colonists for their actions and made them pay for the tea. The closed the port of Boston until all of the tea that was dumped was paid for. Colonial leaders came together to draw a declaration of colonial rights.</div>]]></description>

This is also when the Paul Revere rode on a horse to warn everyone that the British were coming. This battle ended after the two sides fighting and the British retreating. </div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>Common Sense was a 50 page pamphlet where Thomas Paine attacked King George III. In this Pamphlet Paine wanted to convince the colonists to finally claim independence from the British. The pamphlet was widely applauded and help colonists to overcome their doubts about separating from Britain.</div>]]></description>
