I love this movie and it's beauty so I designed the mask and the phantoms curtain behind it, in the play/movie roses are used several times, especially (POSSIBLE SPOILER) at a grave. I personally Live for music and this day was a historic tragedy in music History. The violin case is the coffin, covered in: news clippings about the accident, some lyrics, and other music artists. The face is the  ghost of music and the dead musicians, and the dead rose petals are for mourning and the instruments were for the musicians to be buried in. Since snakes are very dangerous defensive creatures, it wraps around the heart not only protecting it but also strangling it by holding it in too tightly.
