Who Was Steve Jobs, by Pam Pollack and Meg Belviso was a short biography written to tell the life of Steve Jobs as well as the history and formation of Apple back in 1976.

Bomb, by Steve Sheinkin is a non-fiction, Newbery Honor awarded book set in the midst of World War II. The factual, yet engaging writing style is compelling and different from the kind that you'd find in traditional textbooks, but is just as informative and a lot more enjoyable to the avid history fanatic.

I Survived, The Bombing Of Pearl Harbor, 1941, by Lauren Tarshis is yet another piece of historical fiction within the I Survived Series. This specific addition features the catastrophic event that is, the bombing of Pearl Harbor on December 7, 1941, where over 2400 people were killed. Seeing as how this book is a quick read, I would definitely recommend this those to those who are; in need of a great historical fiction book, short on time, and/or history fanatics as the story is simple, yet engaging and condensed.

My Brother Sam Is Dead

My Brother Sam Is Dead, by Christopher Collier and James Lincoln Collier is a historical fiction novel set during the time of the American Revolution. In this book, we follow the life of Tim Meeker, a 12 year-old boy living in the town of Redding, CT. However, on one rainy April night, his older brother Sam shows up at their family's tavern with alarming news; he has joined the American Revolutionary Army. Upon hearing this proclamation, his father becomes outraged, scolding him the next day for his foolish decision, only for him to leave the house shortly after. From that point forward, Sam does eventually come back, but only to leave yet again without explanation; disappearing into the woodlot behind their house. This now leaves Tim in a state of uncertainty; not knowing whether or not he should become a Tory like is father, or a Rebel like his brother. Luckily however, the war didn't impact Tim and the town of Redding as much as other areas, allowing him to ease away from the issue at hand until witnessing a battle between the two sides in person. Prior to the event, Tim's father was captured by a gang of cowboys while returning home after taking his cattle to a trading post, and is later discovered to have died on a prison ship. However, as if it couldn't get any worse, Sam is later falsely accused for stealing Tim's cattle, and publicly executed much to our, and Tim's dismay. In the end, I would definitely recommend this book to someone else. Although it does have some emotional scenes here and there, you'll find yourself fully immersed in the story, making it all the better to read.
