The tropical rainforest is a biome with a constant temperature and a high rainfall. The level of humidity and density of the vegetation give the ecosystem a unique water and nutrient cycle. Rainforests around the world are threatened by human expansion.

10 Animals That Live In This Ecosystem: Jaguars, Orangutans, Gorillas, Capybaras, Tigers, Sloths, Ocelots, Caiman, Toucan, Lepard

10 Plants That Live in This Ecosystem: Orchids, Epiphytes, Bromeliads, Palm Trees, Rattan Palm, Rubber Tree, Bougainvillea, Amazon Water Lily, Silky Oak, Tualang

In an average year in a tropical rain forest, the climate is very humid because of all the rainfall, which amounts to about 250 cm per year. The rain forest has lots of rain because it is very hot and wet. This climate is found near the equator.

Tropical rain forests inhabit the equatorial belt, and are characterized by intense sunlight, heat and large amounts of rainfall. The largest forests are found in South America, Central Africa and the Indonesian archipelago.

Temperate deciduous forests or temperate broadleaf forests are dominated by trees that lose their leaves each year. Ecology of World Vegetation,London: Chapman and Hall. The three major areas of this forest type occur in the Northern Hemisphere: eastern North America, East Asia, and Europe.

10 Animals That Live in This Ecosystem :Broad winged Hawk, Cardinalidae, Snowy Owl, Pileated Woodpecker, White Tailed Deer, Raccoon, Opossum, Porcupine, Vulpes, Red Foxes

10 Plants That live in This Ecosystem: Maple, Oak, Birch, Magnolia, American Sweetgum, Beech, Lichen, Ferns, Moss, Wildflowers, Spruce

Trees and plants in deciduous forests have special adaptations to survive in this biome. Animals: Animals in temperate deciduous forests have to adapt to changing seasons. They must be able to cope with cold winters and hot summers.

The eastern deciduous forest is composed of a remarkable diversity of landscapes and ecosystems that differ to some extent in vegetation, soil and wildlife. Like all temperate forests, the eastern deciduous forest has cold winters, but mild autumns and springs and long, warm summers

Summer temperatures can be well over 100 degrees Fahrenheit, while winter temperatures can be as low as -40 degrees Fahrenheit. They typically have between 10 and 35 inches of precipitation a year, much of it occurring in the late spring and early summer.

These grasses can support high densities of grazing animals, such as zebra, antelope and bison. And these herds in turn support iconic predators, including lions and cheetahs. Grassland ecosystems are particularly fragile because water is scarce. ...
