         <description><![CDATA[<div>"Strict Codes of Conduct dictated the life of a Knight during the Middle Ages and the strict etiquette of their everyday life revolved around the Code of Chivalry, courtly manners and courtly love. A knight would start their life in a castle as a Page and then move up to the role of a Squire (<em>Middle Ages Knights)</em>." This Code of Chivalry is mandatory for all Knights to follow, including the pages and squires.<br><br></div>]]></description>

Squires had already served 7 years in the role of a page before moving to the role of a Squire at the age of 14 years old. As a page he was viewed as a boy, and looked after by the ladies of the court or castle. The knights were heavily armored soldiers who rode on horseback. Only the wealthiest nobles could afford to be a knight.          <description><![CDATA[<div>When a knight came to the end of his fighting days, it was not uncommon to join a military order and so ensure a nice spot in one of their cemeteries or even churches. Effigies of knights were a common way to ensure remembrance. Typically portrayed in full armor and bearing a shield, these stone carvings can still be seen in many churches across Europe (Cartwright).</div>]]></description>

This threatened the supremacy of the knight. Over the next couple centuries, the Knights began to apply thick plate armor. By the end of the 15th century the knight had become useless and outdated, as countries established professional armies of infantrymen ("Knight").</div>]]></description>
