Looked at causes of different behaviours and changing to the mindset of behaviour as communication rather than a problem. Some strategies for identifying behaviours and how children can be supported during them.

Similar sized setting to Craighead with a very different building, a converted house in a residential street. We saw some lovely resources and layouts of rooms. Particularly liked the lunchtime area for 3-5s. Adult sized furniture and rolling lunch with 6 children max at a time.

Understanding Autism - Online (Level 2)

This course has provided me with a better understanding of autism and the principles of supporting individuals with autism covering the person-centred approach, the influence of positive communication methods and how individuals with autism can be supported to live healthy and fulfilled lives.

Great outdoor space at the nursery, almost a combination of the Forest and the main garden. Some great resources and indoor spaces, especially the lunch cabin. Had outside catering for lunch and first 12 to the tables got to eat first, had a few children sitting on sofas just watching the first group eat.

A more in depth first aid course, covering a lot of what is covered at Paediatric First Aid but also more specific things relating to working in and outdoor environment. Lots of practical scenarios and hands on learning.
